I am an urban planner who loves to engage with research and practice at the intersection of planning and public health - with the intent of building more equitable, inclusive cities. In my research, I am particularly interested in the experiences of marginalized populations in (sub)urban places, especially older adults and people living with dementia. Some of the research I have been engaged in so far includes: macro-scale understanding of policy implementation (Age-Friendly Cities) and population projections (Hartt & Biglieri, 2017); examining the financial feasibility, existing evidence and planning policy to build a dementia-friendly greenfield development in Ontario (Biglieri, 2017); gendered experiences of mentorship in academia; and examining equity in the healthy built environment field.
